Meet the Founder, Miriam.

A professional woman with dark curly hair and a broad smile, wearing a light blue blazer and white shirt, standing with her arms crossed against a gray background.

Miriam Hogans is a multi-disciplinary creative, entrepreneur, founder, piano teacher and passionate storyteller based in Austin, Texas. Originally from Louisiana, she relocated to Austin in 2014 to attend college and support her godparents in ministry at Freedom Temple Pentecostal Church, where she continues to serve as Youth Director, Minister of Music, and keyboardist.

She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas State University in 2019, with minors in Mass Communication, Psychology, and Sociology. She went on to earn her Master of Jurisprudence in Business Law from St. Mary’s University School of Law in 2020 and completed her MBA in 2024. She has also served as a three-year panelist for Texas State’s Interdisciplinary Studies Program, mentoring senior students in their final year.

Her passion for visual storytelling was reignited during her time as a short-term missionary with the Apostolic Youth Corps, serving in Hawaii, Costa Rica, and Brazil. There, she took part in worship services, clothing drives, and school supply distributions, while capturing the spirit of communities as the team’s musician, photographer and videographer. It was during these trips that her creative voice found new depth and direction.

That experience led to the founding of HumanKIND Fine Arts & Film Studio, where Miriam focuses on capturing real, emotionally honest stories through photography and film. She has since founded the Christian Arts Film Festival in Austin, Texas, wrote and directed short films with the youth at her church as well as directed the documentary Life As We Know It, which explores homelessness in Austin. Additionally, Miriam is the proud owner of Eight Twenty 8 Christian Apparel, the Christian Arts Collective & Hogans Coffee Co.

Captured by Miriam, the images below display the beauty of God’s CREATION. We were afforded the opportunity to visit Amazonian villages near Manaus and Coari Brazil. Each village was made up of beautiful people with a hunger and thirst for Christ.
